Ice Nine Kills Releases New Song “Twisting The Knife” featuring Mckenna Grace from “Scream 7” Soundtrack
American heavy metal band Ice Nine Kills, consisting of Spencer Charnas (lead vocals), Ricky Armellino (guitar), Joe Occhiuti (bass), Dan Sugarman (guitar), Miles Dimitri Baker (guitar) and Mike Cortada (drums), released a new song “Twisting The Knife” from the upcoming slasher film “Scream 7” soundtrack, featuring one of the film's stars, American actress and singer-songwriter Mckenna Grace on February 19, 2026.
This marks the first collaboration between Ice Nine Kills and Mckenna Grace. The collaboration came from the fact that Mckenna Grace was a fan of Ice Nine Kills.
The song serves as an ode to Scream composer Marco Beltrami's initial score.
It was written by Mckenna Grace, Joe Occhiuti, Steve Sopchak, Francesco Ferrini, Spencer Charnas, Drew Fulk, Jeris Johnson, William Schultz, and JOHN FELDMANN. Produced by WZRD BLD.
The accompanying music video was directed by Jensen Noen.
The band frontman Spencer Charnas said of the song, “'Twisting the Knife' is our tribute to Wes Craven and the Scream franchise, which means so much to us. Scream is baked into the DNA of who I am and of Ice Nine Kills-my love of horror, comedy, and the collision between the two. I was already obsessed with Halloween and Friday the 13th, but Scream was the first I saw in theaters. Hearing the killer talk about horror movies, in that distinctively pop-culture savvy Kevin Williamson way, blew my mind.”- He continued, “Marco Beltrami's 'Scream' scores are just as influential to me as any other component of the films. In our song, there are echoes of the moody atmospheres he's created, with our own INK twist. She recorded her part in my home studio, in the same room where I keep my screen-used Scream knife prop, one of the four rubber knives made for the first movie.”
Mckenna Grace said, “Making this song was such a special experience for me: I am such a big INK fan and it was such an amazing opportunity to be able to play with a different style of music. I am so inspired by [Evanescence singer] Amy Lee's vocals and we all wanted to channel Scream and Sydney [Campbell, protagonist]'s story as best as we could. Spencer and the guys were so much fun to collaborate with and I'm so thankful to Kevin Williamson.” -
The film “Scream 7” was directed by Kevin Williamson, starring Neve Campbell, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Mason Gooding, David Arquette, Matthew Lillard, Courteney Cox, Isabel May, Anna Camp, Michelle Randolph, Jimmy Tatro, Mckenna Grace, Asa Germann, Celeste O'Connor, Sam Rechner, Mark Consuelos, Tim Simons, and Joel McHale.
It is a sequel to the 2023 film “Scream VI” and the seventh installment in the Scream film series.
