The Deep Hour Releases New Song “Hurricane”

Co Cork-based singer-songwriter Brian O'Glanby's indie-rock band The Deep Hour released a new song “Hurricane” on February 20, 2026.
The song is the second single, following the debut song “The One” released last November.
Two songs will appear on their upcoming debut album “Through Your Eyes”, which is expected to be released later this year.
The track is inspired by letters written by a friend's mother, forming a very personal narrative based on true accounts that hit home the devastating and often unvoiced struggles of domestic violence.
It was written by Brian O'Glanby and produced by Wayne Sheehy. The band recorded it at Ocean Studios, Ireland, perched on the edge of the North Atlant
The track features, Brian O'Glanby on vocals, Gerry Leonard on guitars, Ivan Cole on piano, Robbie Malone on bass, Wayne P. Sheehy on drums, and Catriona Fallon on backing vocals.- The band said of the song, “Hurricane came from a conversation with a close friend. He had come across a series of letters written by his mother many years earlier, during a difficult period in her life. It's unclear if the letters were ever sent. They were written from a place of fear, and from the hope that things might change. The feeling in those letters stayed with Brian, and eventually found its way into a song.”

Brian O'Glanby said, “Hurricane was originally written, a friend of mine found a series of letters from one parent to the other for when they were younger. It was very doubtful if these letters were actually sent, but they were very powerful letters. There's over a sad and bad case of domestic violence. These letters were written from one parent to the other from a place of fear, pure fear and the threat of leaving someone. The domestic violence did stop that really triggered something inside of me to write song about that very deep, heartfelt song. That is hurricane.” - source : Apple Music
