Sun Mahshene Premieres New Song “Waves” on BBC Introducing
Irish post-shoegaze band Sun Mahshene, consisting of Nathan Henderson (vocals/guitar), Robert Crosbie (guitar/vocals), Ian McGinn (guitar), David Hilliard (bass/vocals) and Dave Murray (drums), released a new song “Waves” on February 20, 2026.
The song received its first play during BBC Introducing in Northern Ireland with Taylor Johnson.
The band recorded it with producer James Aparicio at Trackmix Studio in Dublin.
“Waves” sits at the intersection of shoegaze, psych, and grand atmospheric rock, balancing scale, mood, and emotional defiant weight.
It was written by Nathan Henderson, Ian McGinn, David Hilliard, Robert Crosbie, and David Murray- The band said of the song, “‘Waves’ captures the tension of reaching an age where life is supposed to make sense-only to find the plan unraveling. It reflects on expectations and uncertainty when a curveball derails everything you thought you had figured out.
