Foo Fighters Announces New Album “Your Favorite Toy”, Shares Title Track
American rock band Foo Fighters, consisting of Dave Grohl (vocals/guitar), Pat Smear (guitar), Chris Shiflett (guitar), Nate Mendel (bass), Rami Jaffee (keyboards) and Ilan Rubin (drums), has announced their upcoming twelfth studio album “Your Favorite Toy” will be released on April 24, 2026 via Roswell Records/RCA Records.
The album is their first LP in three years, following the 2023 album “But Here We Are”.
Also, it is the first release since new drummer Ilan Rubin joined the lineup.
The album comprises 10 tracks, which the band recorded with co-producer Oliver Roman at home.
From the album, the band released the title track “Your Favorite Toy” on February 19, 2026.
The song is the second single off of the album, following “Asking For A Friend” released last October.
The band appeared on The Graham Norton Show to perform the song for the first time on TV.
It was written by Dave Grohl, Nate Mendel, Chris Shiflett, Pat Smear, Rami Jaffee and Ilan Rubin. Produced by Oliver Roman and Foo Fighters.
The band frontman Dave Grohl said of the song, “'Your Favorite Toy' really was the key that unlocked the tone and energetic direction of the new album. We stumbled upon it after experimenting with different sounds and dynamics for over a year, and the day it took shape I knew that we had to follow its lead. It was the fuse to the powder keg of songs we wound up recording for this record. It feels new.”- Dave Grohl told Zane Lowe of Apple Music about the song, “I think we all came to a place, and me in particular. I got to this place where I was like, 'Okay, so what's like, what's the intention, what's the ambition? Like, what are we?' It's our 12th record. We've been a van for 30 years, and as people were evolving, and we're growing. And so where do we go from here? Like, what do we do? And that's when all of the boundaries just sort of fall away. And that's where you realize, like, the intention and the ambition is really all like, it's within yourself. So whatever is going to make us jump around and smile and scream and like, that's the purest intention. And that's where it was, like, we found it in this song. And this particular song was literally the springboard for the rest of the record. When we hit this, it was like, we hit this little vein of gold, and we're like, that's the feeling, that's the vibe, that's the energy, and then we just blasted everything out in like, three or four weeks.”
