  • Jacob Collier Drops New Music Video for “Something Heavy”

  • London-based singer-songwriter Jacob Collier dropped a new music video for “Something Heavy” on February 14, 2026.

The video was directed by André Tentugal, with concept by Jacob Collier, and filmed on the coast of Porto in Portugal.
The song is featured on his sixth studio album “The Light For Days”, which was released last October.
Also, it features on a new EP “Something Heavy”, which comprises 3 tracks, including the original song, a live version with Audience Symphony Orchestra and an ambient 13-minute Sleep Version.
Jacob Collier recorded the album “The Light For Days” in only four days, with 5-string and 10-string signature Taylor acoustic guitars.
It was written and produced by Jacob Collier.
On the track, he played acoustic Guitar, Wurlitzer electric piano, synthesizer, synth bass, upright piano, toy piano, harp, and bells.

Jacob Collier said of the song, “This song speaks to me in a way no other song does.”
He added, “Took a flight over the coast of Porto.”
  • The live version of the song features the world's first audience-made symphony orchestra.
This time, Jacob Collier invited fans from across North America to create the orchestra.
The track was recorded during a special concert at Davis Symphony Hall in San Francisco last fall and was conducted by his mother, Suzie Collier.

Jacob Collier said, “I cannot fully describe how profound it felt to world-premiere my arrangement of this song with an orchestra solely made up of audience members, from all across North America - of all ages, backgrounds, and interests - who connected to the music so wholeheartedly, so honestly, and played under the baton of my incredible mother, Suzie Collier - with such heart. I have never heard a sound like it.”

  • Jacob Collier said of the album, “Since completing the Djesse album series, my imagination has been brimming with all sorts of ideas of things I'd like to do and create. One of the things I've wanted to really focus on, and zone into, is the limitation of a single instrument. The acoustic-guitar sound world has been a foundational aspect of my music universe for as long as I can remember, and so I set myself the challenge of making a full-length album, using almost entirely the five-stringed guitar, in just four days. As a result I had to work so fast that I couldn't second-guess anything - I just had to roll with and trust the process. The results are warm, scrappy, imperfect, but very close to my heart. Djesse Vol. 4 took four years, so this was a severe limitation, but it was a really rewarding one. This is also the first album since In My Room that is 100% me.”
