TRAITRS Releases New Song “Dream Drowning”

Toronto-based post-punk duo TRAITRS, consisting of Shawn Tucker (vocals/guitar) and Sean-Patrick Nolan (synths), will release their upcoming fourth studio album “POSSESSOR” on March 13, 2026.
It is their first album in five years, following the 2021 album “Horses in the Abattoir”.
The album comprises 10 tracks, produced by their long-time collaborator Josh Korody.
The duo said of the album, “This is our most personal album yet and we can't wait to share it with you.”
From the album, the duo released a new song “Dream Drowning” on February 13, 2026.
The song is the third single off of the album, following “Burn in Heaven” and “I Was Ill, You Were Wrong”.
On the track, the band showcases the horrors of everyday life on an endless loop and attempts to understand the emotions behind the dreams we have each and every night. In addition, they evolve their melancholic sound and imagery.
It was written by Shawn Tucker and Sean-Patrick Nolan. Produced by Josh Korody.
The band lead singer Shawn Tucker said, “For me when it comes to dreams, I'm standing on the outside edge of the world looking in. In my experience I've never remembered my dreams.”- Shawn Tucker told Atwood Magazine about the song, “When it comes to dreams, I'm standing on the outside edge of the world looking in. In my experience I've never remembered my dreams. Instead, I'm left navigating other people's experiences, stories and trying to understand how it feels to dream. So many people have such vivid perspectives surrounding them; albeit meanings, reasonings, answers, or premonitions.”
He added, “In 'Dream Drowning,' it's the horrors of my life set on an endless loop, reoccurring over and over again. I've always had a fascination with dreams trying to understand the emotions attached to them. They feel otherworldly to me. To be honest, I prefer not to remember, it's how I think my death will be... black.” -
