James Blake Releases New Song “I Had a Dream She Took My Hand”
British singer-songwriter James Blake released a new song “I Had a Dream She Took My Hand” on February 12, 2026.
The song is the second single off of his upcoming seventh studio album “Trying Times”, following “Death of Love” released last month. The album is set to be released on March 13, 2026 via Good Boy Records. It is his first album as an independent artist.
The track samples “It Was Only A Dream”, which was released by Los Angeles-based R&B band Thee Sinseers in 2019.
It was written by James Blake, Joseph Quinones, and Dom Maker. Produced by James Blake, Josh Stadlen, and Dom Maker. The track features Josh Stadlen on drums and Rob McAndrews on guitar.
With as the previous song, the accompanying performance video was directed by Harrison Adair.
The new album comprises 13 tracks, featuring collaborations with Dave and Monica Martin, produced by
Dom Maker, Jameela Jamil and James Blake.
James Blake told Sian Eleri of BBC Radio 1 about the album, “It's exciting for me. It's been a while since I did something kind of vocal forward as well, for quite a long time, quite many years, actually.”- Alongside the release of the song, he announced Trying Times Tour 2025.
The tour kicks off at The Tabernacle in Atlanta, GA on May 27, 2026 and will concluded at The Greek Theatre in Los Angeles, CA on June 12, 2026.
