  • Waterparks Releases New Protest Song “ICE”

  • American pop-rock band Waterparks, consisting of Awsten Knight (lead vocals/rhythm guitar), Geoff Wigington (lead guitar) and Otto Wood (drums), surprise-released a new political protest song “ICE” on February 3, 2025.

The song lashes out at President Donald Trump and the surge in ICE troops in Minneapolis.
The band recorded the song an January 27, 2026. It will not appear on their upcoming sixth studio album, which is set to be released this month.
The track was written by Awsten Knight and Zakk Cervini. Produced by Zakk Cervini and Julian Gargiulo.
All proceeds from streaming platforms will go to the Midwest Immigration Bond to help free individuals from ICE detention.
  • The band said of the song, “If you know me at all, or follow me on any social media, you know how I feel about where the country is at. The extent to which Trump and his anonymous, kidnapper, murderer, incel, coward ICE agents have terrorized the nation has become so extreme that I felt like I couldn’t not release something like this. Sometimes it’s hard to know exactly how to help, and sharing resources is a great start, but I know we have a platform, and if I can change anyone’s minds, or reach younger people in exceedingly red households whose only window into the world is their parents, I wanna do that. I’m also happy people are hearing and sharing it, despite it being so heavily censored by the tech-right oligarchy, who have spent the last 2 years scooping up every social media platform for this exact reason. At the bare minimum, I hope it validates people’s feelings toward the situation and empowers people to get out and protest. Continue sharing information and stay safe.”

  • The band added, “ICE track on all streaming platforms today, including bandcamp, where you can find it for Name Your Own Price. Proceeds from this, as well as streaming platforms, will be going to the Midwest Immigration Bond to directly help free individuals from ICE detainment and allow them to be reunited with their loved ones. Continue to share resources, information, protest, stay loud, and stay safe.”

The new album will be released this month. The band said, “Album due in 14 days. Trying to add 2 more songs to it while finishing the others. Art is coming together, hired an artist I love. Putting it together with help from Lucas. Waiting on a couple features. Been up til 4am every night working it all out. Parx6 will be a classic.”
