  • Freycus Releases New Song “Justice Miscarried” featuring Peekay

  • Los Angeles-based progressive metal band Freycus, consisting of Pranati “Peekay” Khanna (vocals), Shepard Saied (guitar), Zareh Minassian (guitar), Urian Medina (bass), and Donovan Wetterstein (drums), released a new song “Justice Miscarried” on February 6, 2026.

The song will appear on their upcoming sophomore album “Oleander”, which is set to be released later this year.
Written and recorded by Freycus, the song confronts the quiet normalization of injustice in both global and personal contexts.
The track grapples with systems that perpetuate harm, from wars fueled by corporatized agendas and misinformation to everyday acts of displacement, exploitation, and erasure.

The band said of the song, “It often feels like we're living inside a nightmare, softened only by distraction, nights out, drinks, anything to make the weight feel lighter. We exist in survival mode. But rather than sit quietly and accept it, we choose to scream, to resist, to fight back... This is where 'Justice Miscarried' was born.”
  • They added, “'Justice Miscarried' is about what happens when the systems meant to protect us fail, and the weight that leaves behind. It moves between restraint and eruption. Quiet tension. Sudden impact. Controlled chaos. The calm before the collapse. This is frustration, disbelief, and confrontation turned into sound.”

  • Freycus was formed by guitarist Chuck Almero as punk-driven band.
The name Freycus draws inspiration from the word “fracas,” symbolizing the transformation of disorder into cohesion. That philosophy continues to shape their identity.
But the band evolved into the progressive metal, Chuck Almero transitioned from guitar to focus on managing the project. And then, guitarist Shepard Saied joined the band.
In 2024, Freycus entered a new creative chapter through an ongoing collaboration with Pranati “Peekay” Khanna, an Indian metal vocalist based in Los Angeles.
