Rick Astley Premieres New Song “Waiting On You” on BBC Radio 2
British singer-songwriter Rick Astley is back. He premiered a new song “Waiting On You” on BBC Radio 2 The Scott Mills Breakfast Show on his his 60th birthday (February 6).
The song is his fist music since his ninth studio album “Are We There Yet?”, which was released in 2023.
Also, it is the first release after his 1987 song “Never Gonna Give You Up” returned to No. 1 on the US Billboard Hot 100 in 2025.
The track was written and produced by Rick Astley, who also played drums, keyboards, guitars, and bass. It features Rob Taggart on Keyboards and strings.
Rick Astley said of the song, “The beauty of having a guitar older than I am is that it makes me play, write and feel everything differently. This track has a feeling of a decade long ago, lyrically and style wise. It's been great to jump into new music but with an old heart at the centre of it.”- Rick Astley embarks on The 2026 UK & Ireland Reflection Tour. British singer-songwriter Gabrielle will support the tour.
The tour kicks off at OVO Hydro in Glasgow on April 10, 2026 and will conclude at The O2 in London on April 25, 2026.
