Ecca Vandal Releases New Song “BLEACH”

Melbourne-based singer-songwriter Ecca Vandal released a new song “BLEACH” on February 4, 2026.
The song is the follow-up to “MOLLY”, which was released last November.
As with the previous song, Ecca Vandal co-wrote the song with producer Richie Buxton, who also played on drum kit, guitar, and synthesizer.
The accompanying music video was directed by Ecca Vandal and Richie Buxton.
Ecca Vandal said of the song, “'BLEACH' is the moment you shed the version of yourself moulded by fear. It's brutal, honest, messy, and necessary - letting the old stuff go to make room for something new.”
The location for the video was a serendipitous find: she discovered the house on the same day she filmed “BLEED BUT NEVER DIE”, which was released in August 2024.
Ecca Vandal said of the video, “There was something so serendipitous about the way the stars aligned for this song. We'd just finished shooting the music video for BLEED BUT NEVER DIE when we first found the house for BLEACH. It was sitting quietly around the corner from where we'd just been filming, in our own neighbourhood, like it had been waiting for us.”- She continued, “I decided to reach out to the owner on a whim fully expecting nothing to come of it, but she ended up being super generous and offered us to let shoot in the house at no cost with no conditions. She said she understood what it takes to be a DUY artist, and how much artists give of themselves for their art to exist. Her generosity truly held the whole thing together. Once we were in the space, we moved instinctively.”
She added, “I knew this video needed to live somewhere different from BLEED BUT NEVER DIE: sonically it was a shift, and the visuals needed to mirror that evolution. My creative bestie, Richie and I spent time walking I through the house before the shoot. Letting each space speak room by room for itself. It felt like every corner carried it's own character and tension. We really didn't want to change the the house, we just wanted 'tilt' it slightly. Me, Richie and the same small crew went in and built the atmosphere, led purely by feeling lighting became our most valuable tool, and we were heavily inspired 70's and 80's horror sensibilities.” -
She said, “It was only the second music videlo we'd ever worked on and we were just starting to figure things out: on the fly, with no budget, slighty unhinged but with lots of laughs, trusting our instincts. And exercising our creativity in the face of these newfound limitations had turned out to be a lot of fun.” - source : Apple Music
