Bruce Springsteen Releases New Protest Song “Streets Of Minneapolis”

American singer-songwriter Bruce Springsteen wrote and released a new protest song “Streets of Minneapolis”, in response to the killing of 37-year-old ICU nurse Alex Pretti by federal officers in Minneapolis on January 25, 2026.
It was written and produced by Bruce Springsteen, with production by Ron Aniello and Jon Landau.
The accompanying music video was directed by Thom Zimny.
Bruce Springsteen said of the song, “I wrote this song on Saturday, recorded it yesterday and released it to you today in response to the state terror being visited on the city of Minneapolis. It's dedicated to the people of Minneapolis, our innocent immigrant neighbors and in memory of Alex Pretti and Renee Good.”- Blending social commentary with musical grit, the song has clearly resonated with people, garnering millions of listens in its first day online, reaching No. 1 on the iTunes chart, and entering the UK Top 20 for the first time in nearly three decades for him.
