ktwheels Returns With New Song “Mechanical Being”

Chicago-based singer-songwriter ktwheels returned with a new song “Mechanical Being” on January 30, 2026.
The song is her first music since the debut EP “Junk Drawer”, which was released last April.
On the the track, ktwheels took an approach that combined complex melody with an urgent, anxious release.
The lyrics came to her in a stream of consciousness, inspired by the inescapable experience of tinnitus, and the song came together in one day.
The track was written by ktwheels and produced by Maxwell DiFrisco, featuring Aval Zaucha on bass, Tommy Sagins on drums, and Alvin Santner on guitar.- ktwheels said of the song, “With trusting myself fully and just enjoying my own company, I didn’t overthink anything in this song, and that allowed the song to flow as it wanted to. There wasn’t much thought into song structure, but I knew I wanted the song to be a little jarring at times to emphasize the fluctuation between feeling totally fine and extremely overwhelmed in a matter of minutes. '‘Mechanical Being' is the first time I’ve had the writing process work this quickly and seamlessly for me, and it’s the song I’m most proud of because of that.”

She added, “I am in incredibly proud of this one. It’s my weirdest song yet and i think my favorite so far. This song would not be what it is without my incredible band and team. I am so fortunate to work with musicians who push me. I hope you enjoy this song and take the time to listen!!!” - source : Apple Music
