  • Colony House Drops New Music Video for “Hummingbird”

  • American indie rock band Colony House, consisting of Caleb Chapman (vocals), Will Chapman (drums), Scott Mills (guitar) and Parke Cottrell (bass), released a new song “Hummingbird” on January 16, 2026.

The song is the third single from the second half of a two-part album project, titled “77 (Pt. 2)”, which is set to be released on February 13, 2026.
The music video for the song, directed by Elliott Eicheldinger and Caleb Chapman, was released on January 30, 2026.
The track was written by Caleb Chapman and produced by Chad Copelin.

The band frontman Caleb Chapman said of the song, “The song began with a light picking of chords as I was trying to find the words and melody. I was thinking about the hummingbird – how much strength it takes to stay in one place. At that moment, I was sitting in the yard and suddenly heard a buzzing sound. I looked up - a hummingbird was hovering right in front of me. It's sometimes hard to understand which songs are worth chasing and which ones to let go.”
  • “77 (Pt. 2)” comprises 7 tracks, which the band recorded with longtime producer Chad Copeland.
The first half of the two-part project, “77 (Pt. 1)”, was released last September.
From the beginning, the band envisioned “77” as a two-part album, with seven songs on each side.

Caleb Chapman said, “Part one feels like the start of a race—you're figuring out your pace. Part two just settles in. It feels like the most natural we've ever sounded.”

  • He continued, “77, the number, means a lot of things to a lot of people. Biblically, it's the number of forgiveness. Spiritually, it represents completion or wholeness. For us, it's become a symbol of eternal perspective - a lens to look at love, loss, and life with a little more intention.”

He added, “We've always wanted our music to bring people together - and this album is asking: what does that look like in a world that feels more divided and distracted than ever?”
