Melanie C Releases New Song “What Could Possibly Go Wrong?”
British singer-songwriter and former Spice Girls, Melanie C released the second single called “What Could Possibly Go Wrong?” from her upcoming ninth studio album “Sweat” on January 29, 2026.
The new album is set to be released on May 1, 2026 via Red Girl and Virgin Music Group.
The track is a dance music tune with shimmering synths and dreamy beats.
Melanie C co-wrote the song with Swedish singer-songwriter Nea and producer Klas Åhlund and recorded in Stockholm.
Melanie C said of the song, “'What Could Possibly Go Wrong?' is the second single from my upcoming album, written and recorded in Stockholm with the brilliant Klas Åhlund and Nea gives this track that distinctive Swedish sound. We had a lot of fun working on this song and discussing the light and shade of music and life. It’s a tongue in cheek look on taking risks and trusting yourself to take that leap anyway. I think a lot of people will relate!”- The new album comprises 13 tracks, which she recorded between Stockholm and Los Angeles.
It is her first album in six years, following the 2020 self-titled album.
Also, it is the first release in 23 years under Virgin Music Group. She previously released two albums, “Northern Star” (1999) and “Reason” (2003), via Virgin Music Group.
She said of the album, “I'm thrilled to be releasing my new music with Virgin Music Group. It feels like a homecoming after the successes we shared working together with Spice Girls and my first two solo albums.
