The Maine Announces New Album “Joy Next Door”, Shares New Song “Die To Fall”

American alt-rock band The Maine, consisting of John O'Callaghan (vocals), Kennedy Brock (guitar), Jared Monaco (lead guitar), Garrett Nickelsen (bass), and Pat Kirch (drums), has announced their upcoming tenth studio album “Joy Next Door” will be released on April 10, 2026 via Photo Finish Records.
It is their first album in three years since their self-titled album in 2023.
The band frontman John O'Callaghan said of the album, “I suppose it’s only fitting that our tenth album has been one of the toughest to make to date. Most of the personal friction I’ve felt during the making of this record has derived from having to face my own struggle with feeling like I have everything I could have ever dreamed of, yet I can’t seem to allow myself to be fully present and appreciate the weight of a very fortunate life.“
Drummer Pat Kirch added, “Every album of ours has a color that represents it, and ‘Joy Next Door’ is the green era. The green grass on the album art feels like it matches perfectly with the organic instrumentation and imperfections left intact on the album.”- From the album, the band unveiled the first single called “Die To Fall” on January 28, 2026.
It was written by Garrett Nickelsen, Jared Monaco, John O'Callaghan, Kennedy Brock, and Pat Kirch. Produced by John O'Callaghan and Sean Silverman.
The accompanying music video was directed by Guadalupe Bustos.
John O'Callaghan said of the song, “'Die To Fall' is a dialogue with myself about the desire to let go. Let go of my insecurities, my ego, my worries, let go of ‘me’ for even just a second and truly feel the gravity of all the little moments we can often take for granted. If none of the above resonates, then at the very least, it’s a song to rage to.” -
