Kristina Bazan Returns With New Song “Mermaid Life”
Paris-based singer-songwriter Kristina Bazan returned with a new song “Mermaid Life” on January 26, 2026.
The song is her first single in three years, following the 2023 collaborative song “Golden” with Paris-based music producer Peter Dallas.
Also, the track is the first single off of her upcoming debut album, which is expected to be released later this year.
It was written by Kristina Bazan and produced by David Spinelli.
The accompanying music video was co-directed by Giovanna Gorassini and Kristina Bazan.
Kristina Bazan said of the song, “This song is an introduction to the album that will be coming out later this year. It sets the tone of a new world, a new energy, a new outlook, after the darkness comes the light. This song is an ode to the divine feminine, to reconnecting with our inner power and letting go into it. Mermaids have been massively villainized, yet they represent the psyche, the deep waters, the emotions and the magical, sensual nature of women. May this song be a mantra to let go of the old and be reborn into the new.”- Kristina Bazan debuted independently with “Out” in 2016.
In 2018, she released “Clockwork” and “VR” via E.47 Records and was set to release her debut album, but the album was never released.
She left the label and started to make the album as an independent artist in 2020.
She said of the album, “I have started writing my album in 2020, after leaving my former label and diving into the deepest inner work I've ever done in my life. It came at a time where it felt like I was losing everything, my former life, the label I thought I would grow with, the team I used to work with, friends and relationships that were no longer in alignment. It was one of the hardest years ever. And yet sometimes when you surrender something magical happens and you re-emerge on the other side : a re-birth, a deep transformation, inner alchemy unfolds, unveiling the rawest parts of you to daylight.
