  • googly eyes Announces New EP “paint me like one of your fav american girls”, Shares New Song “Bruises on the Peach”

  • Swedish singer-songwriter googly eyes has announced her upcoming collaborative EP “paint me like one of your fav american girls” will be released on March 13, 2026 via Pretty Swede Records.

The EP comprises 5 tracks, which she worked with Swedish singer-songwriter Tove Lo and Australian DJ Flume, produced by googly eyes and Flume.
From the EP, she released the third single called “Bruises on the Peach” on January 16, 2026, following “I Don't Go Out” and “Made Of”.
The song received its first play during BBC Radio 1's Future Artists with Sian Eleri.
It was written by googly eyes, Harley Streten, and Tove Lo. Produced by googly eyes and Flume.
The accompanying music video was directed by Maya Sassoon.

googly eyes said of the song, “To be known and loved deeply means sharing all your fears, insecurities, and pain points with someone. It’s a fragile ecosystem-you’re giving someone the blueprint to either wound you beyond repair or soothe your deepest hurts. That takes immense trust.”
  • googly eyes told Sian Eleri about the song, “It's funny because I wrote this song about my husband. So I'm in a long distance marriage, which is as sexy and unconventional as it sounds. He was in town when I was working with Tove Lo and Flume. And we had gotten into some argument. Basically, I think the night before, I was so stressed out to be working with two legends that I loved, and I was looking for somewhere to discharge the energy. So I came home and I was in a bad attitude. And something that he and I love to do is we call Mulligan. So we call Do-Overs when we want a redo. And so that night, I had come in, and I was not having a great day, and so I we all had a little tip. And then I walked out and I walked back in and said, 'Hello, I'm home.' And we kind of restarted our night. And so the next day, I went back into the studio, and I was talking to the two of them about how I love my love. I love that it's still so sweet, even with the hard moments, even with the bruises on the peach. I love the fruit. And so I think good love requires mulligans and do overs and accepting imperfections. And so that's what Bruises is about.”

  • In 2023, Tove Lo and Flume launched an open call for an artist development and selected googly eyes from thousands of demos.
Then, they made googly eyes' new EP together.

googly eyes said of working with Tove Lo and Flume, “I had not done an artist session with other people in about five years when I walked into the room to work with them. And so it's kind of why I was so high strung. I was terrified. I think in a lot of ways, you just want to be really confident, and you want to know, you want to have a vision. And you have all those things when you're with yourself, but when you have to engage with other people and kind of share your vision, it's obviously an incredibly vulnerable thing. When you get into the room with them, you realize how equal the playing field is in terms of we're all just people who want to make stuff. I think that sounds so silly, but it's true that everybody's kind of just there to make the best song they can. And on top of that, getting to just be a fly on the wall while they talked about industry things and talked about their live shows and they talked about their fans, just kind of getting to sit there as a listener. I was taking mental notes the entire time. It was truly incredible learning experience for me.”
