Holly Humberstone Announces New Album “Cruel World”, Shares New Song “To Love Somebody”
British singer-songwriter Holly Humberstone has announced her upcoming sophomore album “Cruel World” will be released on April 10, 2026 via Polydor Records.
This marks her first album in three years, following the 2023 debut album “Paint My Bedroom Black”.
From the album, she released the second single called “To Love Somebody” on January 23, 2026, following “Die Happy” released last November.
The song was accompanied by the Silken Weinberg-directed music video.
It was written by Holly Ffion Humberstone, Jon Green, and Rob Milton, who also produced the track.
Holly Humberstone said of the song, “The record explores love as beautiful and inherently painful. In 'To Love Somebody', I wanted to capture that contradiction: to love somebody, is to hurt somebody and to lose somebody, well at least you got to love somebody. In order to feel extreme happiness, you have to know extreme sadness. That's the tension of the record.”- She added, “I wrote this song with gorgeous friends Rob Milton & Jon Green and it's about loving & losing and feeling it all. This blue and green ball just keeps spinning and you just gotta cling on & in the end at least you got to love somebody.”
The album comprises 12 tracks, produced by Rob Milton and Jonah Summerfield.
She said of the album, “I have learnt so much about myself through making this album - I'm so lucky I get to make things with incredibly talented and inspiring friends & family and we've all poured so much love into it and I think we've made something really beautiful. I have so much more I want to say about it but for now just know that it's meant absolutely everything to me for this past year & I cant fucking wait to share it with you.” -
Holly Humberstone embarks on her healing tour in the UK and Europe. The tour kicks off at AB Club in Brussels, BE on February 9 and will conclude at Shepherd’s Bush Empire in London, UK on April 2, 2026.
Also, she will perform at at Coachella in California on April 12 and Governors Ball in New York City on June 7, 2026.
