Megan Moroney Releases New Song “Wish I Didn't”

American country music singer-songwriter Megan Moroney released a new song “Wish I Didn't” on January 16, 2026.
The song is the third single off of her upcoming third studio album “Cloud 9”, following “Beautiful Things” and “6 Months Later”.
The album is set to be released on February 20, 2026.
The song is accompanied by the Lauren Dunn-directed music video, co-starring reality TV star Dylan Efron. The clip was inspired by the action-comedy classic “Mr. & Mrs. Smith”.
A fiery but feel-good warning to a walking red flag, the track marks the most wildly fun offering to date from the album.
It was written by Emily Weisband, Hillary Lindsey, Luke Laird, and Megan Moroney. Produced by Kristian Bush.- Megan Moroney told Zane Lowe of Apple Music about the song, “I was just kind of dating this guy, and it was one of those moments where, like, a little bit of a red flag had popped up. And I had warned him. I was like, 'Don't do this. Like we if you're gonna act like, I think you're gonna act just don't. Let's handshake and call it a day.' And because I literally had the conversation of, like, there will be songs, and like, I'm warning you, because, like, I don't want to do this to you, if you think. If you think this is gonna go any differently than me just walking away with you being unscathed after. But it's also like, it's that aspect, but it's also like, I was just in a funny mood that day, and kind of making fun of the fact that, like, that's probably one of the top three things guys think about when they're dating me. Like, 'Oh, am I gonna get a song written about me?' And so it was kind of just like leaning into that, and kind of making fun of the situation that I have created for myself as an artist and a songwriter who over shares.”

Megan Moroney said of the album, “I am so excited for my fans and I to dive into this new world of Cloud 9 together. Similar to the first two albums, it's all written about honest, personal experiences, but these songs were written by the strongest, most confident version of myself I've ever been. My feet feel firmly planted in my artistry and it was fun to play around sonically, while still sticking to my roots of what my fans and I love. Cloud 9 is a state of mind, and I have no doubt this will be the best chapter yet.”
