New Constellations Releases New Song “I Disappear”

Portland-based indie-pop duo New Constellations, consisting of Harlee Case (vocals) and Josh Smith (multi-instrumentalist), released a new song “I Disappear” on January 16, 2026.
The song is the fifth single off of their upcoming debut album “It Comes in Waves”, which is set to be released on May 15, 2026 via Nettwerk.
The track is a raw and introspective meditation on anxiety, self-doubt, and losing yourself inside your own thoughts.
It was written by Harlee Pierpoint Case and Joshua Ryan Smith. Produced by Joshua Smith and Michael McGarity.
The band lead singer Harlee Case said of the song, “I was going through a really heavy time, and ‘I Disappear’ was written as a stream of consciousness. It’s based on the idea that when you start to spiral about shit and get super in your head about something, you disappear from yourself and the present moment. I believe so much in the law of attraction and manifestation, which also works oppositely. If I’m capable of controlling outcomes with my mind, then I’m fucked right now, because I’m stuck in this loop.”- The debut album comprises 13 tracks, which the duo recorded between Portland and Los Angeles over three years, featuring a guest appearance from Night Heron. Produced by Joshua Smith, Michael McGarity, Tyler Blake, and Cameron Spies.
The record reflects their belief that life unfolds in cycles, grief and joy, heartbreak and renewal, certainty and doubt, all arriving in waves.
Harlee Case said of the album, “The majority of the music is about relationships that I've been in, some of it really happy and some of it really heart-wrenching. In general, life comes in waves. Grief comes in waves. Happiness comes in waves. If you live long enough, you know you're going to experience all these different types of things.”
Josh Smith added, “'It Comes In Waves' is a phrase I've used in my life for a lot of different situations. There’s an ebb and a flow, and life is not what’s ahead of you. Life is what is happening to you at that moment.” -
The duo will support American synthwave duo The Midnight's Spring 2026 North American Tour.
The tour kicks off at The Fillmore Miami Beach in Miami, FL on April 16, 2026 and will concluded at Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles, CA on May 15, 2026.
