Robbie Williams Releases New Album “BRITPOP”

British singer-songwriter Robbie Williams released his 13th studio album “BRITPOP” on January 16, 2026 via Columbia Records.
It is his first album in nine years since the 2016 album “The Heavy Entertainment Show”, excluding Christmas album.
Initially, the new album wad supposed to be released on October 10, 2025, but was pushed back to February 6, 2026.
He pushed back the album after learning that its original release date would clash with Taylor Swift's new album “The Life of a Showgirl”.
Robbie Williams is currently tied with The Beatles for a record 15 UK number one albums. He hopes to break this record by reaching number one with his new album “BRITPOP”.
At that time he told BBC Radio 1, “I'm still a big deal but I can't compete with that one. So I've shifted it. I've moved it a little bit. It's an alternative reality that I step into when I think about my career and I think about that particular record.”
But finally, he released the album on January 16, three weeks earlier than expected.
He said, “You thought it was gonna be then... then we decided it wasn't... and now I've decided it's now. Ladies and Gentlemen: 'BRITPOP' - the album.”
The album comprises 11 tracks (deluxe edition 17 tracks), featuring guest appearances from Tony Iommi, Jesse & Joy, and Laura Pausini (on deluxe edition).- Robbie Williams said of the album, “I set out to create the album that I wanted to write and release after I left Take That in 1995. It was the peak of Britpop and a golden age for British Music. I've worked with some of my heroes on this album; it's raw, there are more guitars and it's an album that's even more upbeat and anthemic than usual. There's some 'Brit' in there and there's certainly some 'pop' too - I'm immensely proud of this as a body of work and I'm excited for fans to hear this album.”
He added, “When you become hugely successful and then "commercial radio, whatever, stops playing you... you think, shit, what was it that I did? I just spent the last 15 years looking backwards. And I think with this album, if I am going to look backwards, I might as well just clear the decks, go back to the start and head off from there.” -
Robbie Williams explained some tracks for the album.
“Rocket” featuring Tony Iommi via NME
“Glenn Hughes [is on the track too]! I wanted to make the album that I'd make if I'd left Take That now, knowing what I know. This particular song ['Rocket'] encapsulates that perfectly. This [track] is massive guitars, as you can imagine. It's adrenaline-filled and balls-to-the-wall. That one in particular is my favourite song off my new album - that I've just announced is happening!”
“Pretty Face”
“This is my 'DeLorean Moment' back to 1995... The Word was the late-night gateway to so many - Nirvana, Oasis, Happy Mondays... If BRITPOP is the album I would have made, then THIS would have been the TV show... now a (virtual) reality. Thank you Charlie Lightening for making it happen.”
“Human” featuring Jesse & Joy
“We are being told that we're all about to be replaced, and we need clothes and we need food, so there's a chance that we will be removed. Whether it's a prophecy, we shall see. It's a song about what we've been told about AI.”
“Desire” featuring Laura Pausini
Robbie Williams: “Music and football bring people together like nothing else so I'm beyond honoured to be the Official FIFA Music Ambassador. To perform 'Desire' with Laura at the final of the FIFA Club World Cup and share that moment with fans in the stadium and all the fans watching from home around the world, will be a truly special moment. And it's just the start, I'm so excited that my song will be a part of some of my favourite FIFA football tournaments in the coming years.”
Laura Pausini: “It's an honour for me to be invited to join Robbie Williams and be featured on the song 'Desire', written by Robbie. The song is amazing, really touching. It's a dream to be with him for the FIFA Club World Cup. Since I was a little girl growing up in Italy I remember the thrill and passion for football in my home country. To be able to perform live with Robbie Williams in front of passionate football fans and to be heard by music fans around the world will be truly amazing.”
