Seán Feeny Releases New Song “Galactic Tides”

Irish singer-songwriter Seán Feeny released a new song “Galactic Tides” on January 15, 2026, exploring themes of displacement, discovery, and the search for belonging.
The song is the third single, following “1969” and “Western Roads”.
Three songs will appear on his upcoming debut album “Galactic Tides”, which is set to be released on February 6, 2026.
The track features Irish singer-songwriter and his wife Sarah Cullen on backing vocals.
It was written by Seán Feeny and Ruairí Friel. Produced by Orri McBrearty and Seán Feeny.
Seán Feeny said of the song, “This song is, at its heart, an emigration story. It's about being dropped into a place unknown and having to find your way. The universe became the language for that journey, those moments where you feel weightless, lost, or out of your element, but eventually find a kindred spirit or a new beginning.”- Co-writer Ruairí Friel added, “Seán and I had a chat about a collaboration. He shared some lyrics and this one jumped out to me as it spoke about displacement and identity being outside of control, subject to bigger forces. I felt it was an important song in his whole project and I went with the melody and chords that felt right.”
The accompanying music video was directed by Charlie Joe Doherty.
Seán Feeny said of the video, “We wanted the video to feel like you've been dropped into another world. An Carn Buí (Carnboy) and An Charraig Fhinn (Carrickfin) gave us that sense of vastness, isolation, and discovery. It's a story about finding connection in an unknown place.” -
The debut album comprises 10 tracks, produced by Orri McBrearty, with additional creative input and performances from Ruairí Friel, Sarah Cullen, Tommy Callaghan and Laura McFadden.
The album is structured in two parts, Low Tide and High Tide, reflecting both emotional ebb and flow and the album's recurring themes of departure and return
