  • Foy Vance Announces New Album “The Wake”, Shares New Song “Hi, I'm The Preachers Son”

  • Irish singer-songwriter Foy Vance has announced his upcoming seventh studio album “The Wake” will be released on March 13, 2026 via Rounder Records.

It is his first studio album in five years, following the 2021 album “Signs of Life”.
The album comprises 13 tracks and marks the end of a 26-year journey and the beginning of a new one. His journey began in 1999, after the unexpected passing of his father. In the midst of grief, he committed to making seven albums, each of which reflects the impact of his father's death.

Foy Vance said of the album, “After my dad died everything lined up and I knew I was meant to make seven records akin to those seven years, and that each record would represent a stage of my growth as an artist and a songwriter. I figured that making seven albums would be the making of me.”
  • From the album, he released the fourth single called “Hi, I'm The Preachers Son” on January 14, 2026, following “I Think I Preferred The Question”, “Call Me Anytime”, and “A.I.”.
The song is accompanied by an animated music video, which was directed by John Howe
The track was written by Bonnie Bishop and Foy Vance. Produced by Ethan Johns.

Foy Vance said of the song, “As a preacher's son you get to spend some of your life sitting quietly in a room full of people while your Dad stands up and talks to them all about what God meant to say ha…it is a peculiar thing. And it made me look at my Dad in a polarizing light which in turn impacted how I see everything.”
