Kim Gordon Announces New Album “PLAY ME”, Shares New Song “NOT TODAY”

American singer-songwriter Kim Gordon has announced her upcoming third solo album “PLAY ME” will be released on March 13, 2026 via Matador Records.
This marks her first full-length record in two years, following the 2022 album “The Collective”.
The album comprises 12 tracks, which she recorded with longtime collaborator Justin Raisen.
Kim Gordon said of the album, “We wanted the songs to be short. We wanted to do it really fast. It's more focused, and maybe more confident. I always kind of work off of rhythms, and I knew I wanted it to be even more beat-oriented than the last one. Justin really gets my voice and my lyrics and he understands how I work—that came forth even more on this record.”- From the album, she released a new song “NOT TODAY” on January 14, 2026.
The song is the second single off of the album, following “BYEBYE25!” Released last June.
It was written by Kim Gordon and Justin Raisen.
The accompanying music video was directed by Rodarte fashion label founders Kate and Laura Mulleavy.
Kim Gordon said of the song, “I started singing in a way I hadn't sung in a long time. This other voice came out.”
She added, “I hope you love it as much as we do. Working with Kate, Laura and Chris was beyond my expectations but everything I knew it could be.” -
Directors Kate and Laura Mulleavy said, “She was our idol and we vividly remember fitting the dress with her in NYC. When we started to conceptualize the video, Kim brought up wearing the dress, which we knew was perfect for the video idea.”
