Daphni Releases Two New Songs “Good Night Baby” & “Talk To Me”
Canadian music producer Dan Snaith, aka Daphni released two new songs “Good Night Baby” and “Talk To Me” on January 12, 2026.
Two songs are taken from his upcoming album “Butterfly”, which is set to be released on February 6, 2026 via Jiaolong.
Both songs were written and produced by Dan Snaith.
Daphni said of “Good Night Baby”, “'Good Night Baby' is a good illustration of how far a finished track can end up from it's origin / of how rudderless I am when making music most of the time. This one started out more like the mostly drums only track that you hear towards the end... but somewhere along the way turned into a big mushy loved up track with all the feels.”
He said of “Talk To Me”, “The polar opposite of 'Good Night Baby', it's rare that I manage to keep my tracks as sparse and spare as this one—just wubs, drums, voices and occasionally a little synth melody. I didn't think that this was done until I played it out but on a big soundsystem it struck me that this was all it needed.”- To date, Dan Snaith has released the albums under stage names Caribou, Manitoba, and Daphni.
As Daphni, the new album is his first full-length record in four years, following 2022 album “Cherry”, and comprises 16 tracks.
Daphni said of the album, “The album is wild. There's such a broad range of stuff on there: weird tracks, club tracks, pop tracks... I just forgot to think about the album was supposed to be and just made whatever struck me. Weirdly though for me, at least, it hangs together really well I think...”
He added, “Daphni music is still music that I'm making primarily for the purpose of playing in my DJ sets. The majority of the tracks on this record I do play regularly in my sets. But then there are a bunch – slower, weirder - that I don't usually play... or wait... maybe the point is that I'd only play them in the right club.” - source : Apple Music
