Erin LeCount Releases New Song “I BELIEVE”

London-based singer-songwriter Erin LeCount released a new song “I BELIEVE” on January 9, 2026 Atlantic Records.
The song follows the 2025 singles “808 HYMN” and “MACHINE GHOST”.
It was written and produced by Erin LeCount.
The accompanying live video was filmed and edited by Kit Dale and Sam Taylor-Edwards.
The clip was filmed at KOKO in London earlier last month.
Erin LeCount said of the song, “'I Believe' is a cynical, existential song about apathy, passiveness in your own life, disillusionment with the state of the world, what it feels like to turning to every possible external source to tell you how to feel and exist – religion, self help books, magazines, astrology, lovers, antidepressants. I wrote it about a pursuit of perfection, faith and meaning soundtracked to relentless synth pop production.”- She continued, “I made this song over a year ago. It holds a special kind of sadness for me - the kind that can only be transmuted through a relentless synthpop bass and electronic drums that keep your body in movement when your head and heart hurts. I wrote it as a reflection of my year. I wrote it about wanting so badly for something or someone to tell you what to believe in. What to do with your life and your body. How to be better. How to be good. Searching for answers from religions. cults. Pop astrology quizzes in magazines. Lovers. worshipping shitty modern self help books. Going back on antidepressants. This song is the agony of when you do the correct things. You buy the right stuff. You tick every box that you are told to. You do everything right. You make your life smaller and you abstain from love and sex and food and joy and friends and tell yourself this will make me a better person. Constantly cleansing. Optimising. Affirming. Sacrificing. Punishing. And you still feel like there's something wrong with you. It is about apathy and passiveness in your own life and wanting to be told what to do whilst hating every answer you're given. It's about the pursuit of perfection when really you'd just be happy with a purpose. And it's all yours. ps. for anyone else in their pursuit - guilt won't make you clean again.”

She said of the video, “Thank you for singing your hearts out. What a beautiful problem to have mixing a live show because the audience is so loud for a song that is not out yet. Singing it live feels like alchemy, a reward for all the grief and confusion it’s lyrics talk about. I wanted to relive this night over and over and I hope now you can. Grateful for the love you have shown this song today and grateful to be back on tour in less than a month in many places I have never been before.” - source : Apple Music
