Steve Aoki Teams Up with Sound Rush & Hoobastank for New Remix of “The Reason”
American DJ Steve Aoki released his new remix album “HiROQUEST 3: Paragon Remixed” on January 8, 2026.
The album is a high-energy reinvention of his landmark 10th studio album “HiROQUEST 3: Paragon”, which was released last June.
The album comprises 35 tracks, featuring guest appearances from Hoobastank, Kalan.FrFr, Ne-Yo, Raphaella, Mannywellz, Xander850, KIDDO, Teddy Bee, KABU, Leah Kate, Tyler Hubbard, Jowell & Randy, Ekko, MERYLL, and Lil Jon.
From the album, he teamed up with Dutch DJ duo Sound Rush and American rock band Hoobastank to release a new remix of the Hoobastank classic “The Reason” on January 9, 2026.
The original version of the song was released by Hoobastank as the second single from their sophomore album “The Reason” in 2004. It was written by Daniel Estrin. The remix version was produced by Steve Aoki and Sound Rush.
The song reached No. 2 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and was nominated for Best Rock Album, Song of the Year and Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals at the 2004 Grammy Awards.- Steve Aoki said of the song, “This remix album is about taking HiROQUEST 3: Paragon into another dimension. Each track has been reimagined to push the energy even higher and give fans something totally new to experience. Collaborating with so many incredible artists and DJs made the whole project feel alive from start to finish. I wanted to make this one extra special, so I teamed up with Hoobastank and Sound Rush to rework 'The Reason.' We turned it into this massive moment that's been going off in my sets, and I'm so excited to finally share it with the world.”
