Amy Grant Returns With New Song “The 6th Of January (Yasgur's Farm)”

American singer-songwriter Amy Grant returned with her brand new song “The 6th Of January (Yasgur's Farm)” on January 6, 2026.
The song is the follow-up to “Home”, which was released last May and will also appear on her upcoming album, which is expected be released later this year.
The new album is her first original full-length record in 13 years.
On the track, she played the strumstick, which is a three-stringed instrument.
The song was written by her friend and Nashville songwriter, Sandy Lawrence. Produced by Mac McAnally.
Sandy Lawrence introduced the song to Amy Grant before she went on her West Coast tour.
Amy Grant told USA TODAY what inspired her to record the song, “My suitcase is in the front hall, and I opened the door, and there was Sandy holding a strumstick. She wanted to play a song for me and I said, 'I'm leaving for the airport, but let's go to the bedroom, and I can film it on my phone.' I was so intrigued by the strumstick and the song that when I came back (from the tour), I asked her if I could record it.”- Amy Grant said of the song, “We operate in the world around us and sometimes neglect the power of what we have in our choices. The song observes life and the unrest many of us feel, while knowing we are shaping the world around us daily. Maybe life and problem solving is more of a 'we' than 'me' conversation. If we can choose to look through a lens other than our own, maybe there is hope to come together and find a way through the unrest.”

Amy Grant shared on social media, “We are all trying to find our way. This song is the beginning of my story of sitting in unrest and growing throughout. It's not just the beginning of the stories of 'me' but how we can become a 'we.' Maybe there is hope to come together and find the way forward through the unrest. I believe in that hope. I hope this song brings you some too.” - source : Apple Music
