The Format Releases New Song “Right Where I Belong”

American indie rock band The Format, consisting of Nate Ruess (vocals/guitar) and Sam Means (keyboards), released the fourth single called “Right Where I Belong” from their upcoming third studio album “Boycott Heaven” on January 2, 2026, following “Boycott Heaven”, “Shot In The Dark”, and “Holy Roller”.
The album is set to be released on January 23, 2026.
The track was written by Nate Ruess and Sam Means. Produced by Brendan O'Brien.
The band said of the song, “'Boycott Heaven' is out in 3 weeks, but we're sharing one more song from the album today. 'Right Where I Belong' is a personal song about the lives we've built during our time away and the people we've built them with. We know that many of you have grown alongside us and our music over the years - from touring and shows, to homes and families. We hope this song finds you where you are.”- The new album comprises 11 tracks, produced by Brendan O'Brien. It is their first album in two decades since the 2006 album “Dog Problems”.
The band broke up in 2008. They planed reunion tour in 2020, but canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
In 2025, the band announced that they would reunite for a second time and release their third studio album “Boycott Heaven” on January 23, 2026. -
