Cassie Henderson Releases New EP “footnotes”
New Zealand singer-songwriter Cassie Henderson released a new EP “footnotes” along with a new music video for “pity party” on December 25, 2025.
The EP comprises 4 tracks, which were written and produced by Cassie Henderson.
She has been working on a trilogy EP titled “The Chronicles of a Heart Broken”.
To date, she released the first chapter, “The Pink Chapter” in 2023 and the second chapter, “The Yellow Chapter” in 2024.
The final chapter, “The Blue Chapter” is set to be released in 2026.
The EP “Footnotes” was released ahead of “The Blue Chapter,” and represents areas of healing she called “grey” that occurred during the three-year development of the trilogy EP.- Cassie Henderson said of the EP, “For the past three years I've been writing and recording a project called The Chronicles of a Heart Broken (three EPs, three chapters: Pink, Yellow, and Blue). Each one tracing a different phase of heartbreak and healing. If you've been following along, you'll know Blue is coming soon. But before we get there, I need to share the grey.”
She continued, “Somewhere along the way it became very clear to me that healing isn't linear. I've learnt the same lessons more than once, fallen back into old habits, and found myself just as messy and confused as before. So I kept writing.” -
She added, “These songs were written and recorded in my bedroom (radiator clicks, birds singing, dogs snoring, floorboards creaking and all). They hold my scariest truths, and a nostalgia for softness. They are the things I only understood later, and only made sense in the margins.” - source : Apple Music
