  • Holly Humberstone Performs “Die Happy” & Cover of Cat Stevens' “Wild World” on triple j Like A Version

  • British singer-songwriter Holly Humberstone appeared on triple j Like A Version to perform her latest song “Die Happy” and a cover of British singer-songwriter Cat Stevens' “Wild World”.

This marks her first appearance on Like A Version.
“Die Happy” was released last month, which is her first music in over a year since the 2024 EP “Work in Progress” and will appear on her upcoming sophomore album.
It was written by Holly Ffion Humberstone, Nate Campany, and Rob Milton, who also produced the track.

Holly Humberstone said of the song, “I wrote 'Die Happy' thinking about a fairytale at night, somewhere between driving fast with the windows down and wandering through a crumbling old house. I took inspiration from The Bloody Chamber and Dracula and I wanted to show the feeling of throwing yourself into love fully and recklessly. There is danger in love.”
  • “Wild World” was released by Cat Stevens from his fourth album “Tea for the Tillerman” in 1970.
The song reached No. 11 on the US Billboard Hot 100.
British reggae singer-songwriter Maxi Priest and American rock band Mr. Big covered the song in 1988 and 1993, respectively.
The track was written by Cat Stevens.

Holly Humberstone told triple j about the song, “I remember watching Skins as a teenager–I was really obsessed with Skins. And at the end of the first season it's a very dramatic moment and Tony's just been hit by a bus and everything's terrible. And the cast of Skins is miming to 'Wild World'. I just remember it being a very powerful moment in the series and I wanted to reference one of my favourite shows of all time.”
