Arkells Releases New Song “Money” featuring Portugal. The Man
Canadian alt-rock band Arkells, consisting of Max Kerman (vocals/rhythm guitar), Mike DeAngelis (lead guitar), Nick Dika (bass), Tim Oxford (drums) and Anthony Carone (keyboards), joined forces with American rock band Portugal. The Man to release a new song “Money” on December 17, 2025.
This marks the first collaboration between Arkells and Portugal. The Man. The song is the second single off of their upcoming album, following their October release “What Good?”.
The feel good and synth infused track explores the most universally complicated relationship we all have, with money.
It was written by Anthony Carone, John Baldwin Gourley, Max Kerman, Michael DeAngelis, Nick Dika, and Tim Oxford. Produced by John Congleton.
The accompanying music video was directed by Arkells themselves.- The band guitarist Max Kerman said of the song, “The pull of money is hard to escape. It's tangled up in vanity, competition, ego, and dreams of the future - but it's a godless place to live. There are so many invisible forces that guide us, and we're trying to keep money from sitting too high on the list. We felt like the song was almost there, when we realized John from Portugal. The Man--our favourite American with a streak rebellion--was exactly the voice to bring it home.”

The new album is expected to be released in 2026. The band embarks on European and UK tour in support of the album. The tour kicks off at Mikropol in Mikropol, Berlin, Germany on March 12, 2026 and will conclude at Underworld in London, UK on March 20, 2026.
