Lucy Deakin Premieres New Song “Sunburn” on BBC Radio 1

London-based alt-pop singer-songwriter Lucy Deakin premiered a new song “Sunburn” on BBC Radio 1's Future Pop with Jodie Bryant.
The song is the follow-up to “Solar Eclipse”, which was released back in September.
She wrote and recorded the track in just two hours while working on another song.
It was written by Lucy Deakin, and Neave Applebaum, who also produced the track.
Lucy Deakin told Jodie Bryant about the sonf, “When we made it, I was actually in the studio finishing off another song. And it was meant to be the single the 'What Is Sunburn?' And was redoing the vocals, and it literally got like midnight, and I was thinking, 'Oh, you know what? I just like, really feel as if I've got a song in me right now.' And I just went with it. We literally started at midnight, finished at 2am. And I woke up the next morning, text it to my manager, and was like, 'You know what this is next?' Like, I just knew it captured just the right energy, and it felt like the perfect progression after 'Solar Eclipse'.”- She continued, “We started with the chorus. And just did it, and it felt so right. And I then was like, was gonna go home. And I was like, 'You know what? Just stick with this. Stick with it till we get it.' And then as soon as, like, even the outro bit was just like a one take, like tangent that just came out. And it just felt so right. And I thought there was nothing else I would have rather had as the next song.”
