  • Lily Allen Performs “Sleepwalking” & “Madeline” on Saturday Night Live

  • London-based singer-songwriter Lily Allen appeared on Saturday Night Live to perform “Sleepwalking” and “Madeline”.

This marks her first appearance on SNL in 18 years since 2007 (Season 32).
On “Madeline”, American actress Dakota Johnson played the titular other woman.
Two songs are featured on her fifth studio album “West End Girl”, which was released back in October.
The album is her first LP in 7 years since the 2018 album “No Shame” and reached No. 2 on the UK Albums Chart.
The album comprises 14 tracks, which she wrote in just 10 days.

Lily Allen told Jimmy Fallon of The Tonight Show, “I had 10-day writing session booked. I didn't really have a plan. And I got there. I mean, I'm exaggerating a little bit. I had 18 track titles, which I wrote the night before I went in for the sessions. We wrote two songs on the first day, and I was like, 'Oh this is kind of good, I think.'”

“Sleepwalking” was written by Lily Allen, Kito, Blue May, Leroy Clampitt and Violet Skies. produced by Kito, Blue May and Leroy Clampitt.
“Madeline” was written by Lily Allen, BLUEM, Violet Skies, Chrome Sparks and Jean Carter. Produced by Blue May, Chrome Sparks and Micah Jasper.
  • Lily Allen said of the album, “I've tried to document my life in a new city and the events that led me to where I am in my life now. At the same time, I've used shared experiences as the basis for songs which try to delve into why we humans behave as we do, so the record is a mixture of fact and fiction which I hope serves as a reminder of how stoic yet also how frail we humans can be. In that respect I think it's very much an album about the complexities of relationships and how we all navigate them.”
