Fatboy Slim & The Rolling Stones Officially Release Mashup “Satisfaction Skank” After 25 Years

British DJ Norman Cook, aka Fatboy Slim has finally officially released his mashup “Satisfaction Skank”.
25 years ago, he mashed up his own 1999 hit “The Rockafeller Skank” with British rock band The Rolling Stones' 1965 track “(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction” and shared it as “Satisfaction Skank.”
However, The Rolling Stones did not approve the sample, and the track was never officially released after numerous attempts to get it cleared were denied.
But the band eventually relented, allowing Fatboy Slim to rebuild the track using a higher-quality version of the original mix. The original recording was delivered to him in an armoured van.
The track was John Barry, Keith Richards, Mick Jagger, Norman Cook, and Winfred Terry. Produced by Fatboy Slim.
The accompanying music video was directed by Tom Furse, who used AI to create it.- Fatboy Slim told BBC about the song, “That's more of a testament to my state of mind and partying in those days, than to the historical importance of it. I got a call from Mick Jagger and he said he'd heard it and he liked the mix. But his management was just like, 'No, not even negotiable'. We've had a pretty flat 'no' for 20 years. I think we asked four times, and I wouldn't have dared to ask them again.”
He added, “Big thanks to The Rolling Stones for just being The Rolling Stones (…and also for making this happen.” - source : BBC
