Mumford & Sons Releases New Song “Prizefighter”

British folk rock band Mumford & Sons, consisting of Marcus Mumford (lead vocals/guitar), Ted Dwane (vocals/bass) and Ben Lovett (vocals/keyboards), will release their upcoming sixth studio album “Prizefighter” on February 13, 2026 via Island Records.
It is their first album in almost a year since the 2025 album “Rushmere”.
From the album, the band released the title track on December 11, 2025.
The song is the second single off, following “Rubber Band Man” with Irish singer-songwriter Hozier.
The band co-wrote the song with American rock band The National's Aaron Dessner and American indie folk band Bon Iver's Justin Vernon. Produced by Aaron Dessner and Mumford & Sons.
They recorded the song at Aaron Dessner's Long Pond Studio in upstate New York.
The new album comprises 14 tracks, featuring collaborations with Chris Stapleton, Hozier, Gigi Perez, and Gracie Abrams.
The band wrote over the album's worth of material in just ten days.- The band frontman Marcus Mumford said of the album, “We feel like we're hitting our prime as a creative force. We're putting everything we have into this now, and we're using everything about our experience so far to embrace exactly who we are. We're comfortable in our skins these days. And 'Prizefighter' is us going for it - serious and playful, sometimes bruised and always hopeful. We're nowhere near done yet. I hope and believe and we're in the beginning of something we don't want to let up on. I'm more excited to be in this band than I've ever been.”

He added, “We think Prizefighter is the best music we've ever made, and we've never been happier doing it. With the help of our old friend Aaron Dessner, we found this creative flow that brought out the best in us as artists, and made us feel comfortable in our skins, and confident in what we have to bring to this mad world of music. We also thought the time, and the songs, were right to invite some of our favourite artists in the world to collaborate with us: Chris Stapleton, Gracie Abrams, Gigi Perez and, of course, Hozier. We cannot fucking wait for you to hear it.”
