Maisie Peters Performs “Say My Name In Your Sleep” & Cover of Coldplay's “Christmas Light” on BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge

British singer-songwriter Maisie Peters appeared on BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge to perform her latest song “Say My Name In Your Sleep” and a cover of British rock band Coldplay's “Christmas Light”.
“Say My Name In Your Sleep” was released last month as third single from her upcoming third studio album, which is set to be released in 2026.
On the track, she collaborated with British folk rock band Mumford & Sons' Marcus Mumford.
The track was inspired by Daphne du Maurier's 1938 Gothic novel “Rebecca”.
Maisie Peters said of the song, “'Say My Name In Your Sleep' is a song about both haunting and being haunted. It's about keeping a constant eye on the past - on the person you loved - whilst being old enough and grown enough to know it wasn't right, and to wish them all the best. It's about having a tiny, secret sliver of your heart that still, deep down, hopes and prays they think of you - just a little, just when it's dark, just when they hear that song on the radio. It's about letting go, begrudgingly, but letting your shadow linger a moment too long.”- She added, “This song for me embodies the new era of music - it feels both wistful and nostalgic, soft yet pointed, simmering with a quiet anger but a louder acceptance that love ends up exactly where it’s meant to, even if a piece of it does get lodged in your heart forever.”
“Christmas Light” was released by Coldplay in 2010. The band frontman Chris Martin wrote the song in 2008.
The song has sold over 1.2 million copies in the UK and is considered one of the best holiday songs of all time. - source : BBC Radio 1's Live Lounge
