Zarema Releases New Remix of “Closure” by David Alexander
Los Angeles–based singer-songwriter Zarema teamed up with David Alexander to release a new remix of “Closure” on December 5, 2025.
The original version of the song will be released soon.
The single is the second remix, following the Vic Latino remix, which was released back in October.
Originally written in the aftermath of a deeply personal loss, the song was born from Zarema's experience of losing a close family member to COVID during the earliest days of the pandemic.
The track was written by Zarema Curtis and produced by John Russell.
Zarema said of the song, “My latest song was inspired by the unexpected loss of a family member. So many of us never had the opportunity to be there in those final moments. I began writing a song in response - to honour that feeling and, hopefully, help others feel less alone in it.”
She continued, “My music expresses my empathy for other people. I hope it comforts them, and for others, I hope it inspires genuine empathy in themselves. It's such a fundamental part of the human condition.”- She added, “This song is deeply personal to me, inspired by the loss of a close relative to COVID during the pandemic's early days, when we couldn't say goodbye. I started writing it in late 2020, pouring my feelings into an emotional song about grief, unanswered questions, and the struggle to find closure. Many of us faced those unbearable moments without farewells, and I hope 'Closure' can honor that experience and help others feel less alone.”
