  • Billy Idol Drops New Music Video for “Too Much Fun”

  • British punk rock singer-songwriter Billy Idol dropped a new music video for “Too Much Fun” on December 9, 2025.

The video was directed by Harsh Patel. Footage captured during his tour “It's A Nice Day To...Tour Again!” at Talking Stick Resort Amphitheater, Bridgestone Arena, Budweiser Stage, Wembley OVO Arena, Madison Square Garden, Red Rocks Park & Amphitheatre, Greek Theater Berkeley, and Kia Forum.
The song is featured on his ninth studio album “Dream Into It”, which was released back in April.
It was written by Billy Idol, Steve Stevens, Tommy English, and Nick Long.

Billy Idol said, “From the 'Dream Into It' album to 'It's A Nice Day To…Tour Again!' - thank you all for an incredible year.”
  • The album comprises 9 songs, produced by Tommy English, featuring guest appearances from Avril Lavigne, Alison Mosshart, and Joan Jett. It is his first album in 11 years since the 2014 album “Kings & Queens of the Underground.”

Billy Idol told UCR about the album, “We were doing a documentary and so when I came to make this album, I just bounced off the documentary because that's literally what we were doing. Writing a song about 1977, writing a song about coming to America and what it was like in those days. So the album is a little bit about the story of my life, almost in chronological order. But this is telling a story, that's the story of my life. Really, that's what Dream Into It is about.”
  • Billy Idol's band guitarist Steve Stevens told Rock Cellar, I think one of the great things about Billy is that he really likes working with young people, either writers or in the case of Tommy English, our producer, a young cat who grew up on Billy Idol music. What's crazy is we're in the studio now with guys who are in their early '30s. Nick Long is one of the co-writers, he writes with Machine Gun Kelly; we're also working with Joe Janiak. These are all younger guys. So I think we were able to do what we always did, which is we sit down with a couple of acoustic guitars to write a song, and working with younger guys, they can channel it in today's world. Whereas, I think for a number of years, we always shied away from the thought of, 'Let's not do anything that even remotely resembles 'Rebel Yell,'' but now we can take the spirit of what we did and present it in a new way. I think that these younger people we work with have certainly helped us do that.”

Billy Idol explained some tracks for the album.

    “77” featuring Avril Lavigne
“It came out really fantastic. She's incredible, and the song just came alive. It was already good with me on it, but it got three times better with her on it.”

    “Still Dancing”
“'Still Dancing' is really a reflection of my whole journey. From the punk rock period through to now. And I'm still looking towards the future, still living the life I set out to live. At the start of the song I'm recalling the early times in London, when I was living in squats or at friends' apartments, all my belongings in a plastic bag. Everybody at home or work told you what you were doing was never going to happen. But punk rock gave me an opening. I was surrounded by people who loved the music as deeply as I did and you were going to throw caution to the wind, believe in what you were doing and grab on for dear life. As the song says, there have been many moments along the way where I've been self destructive. But what's seen me through is that unflinching belief in the music that started all those years ago. That's been the greatest gift of all.”
