Sophie Gault Covers Gurf Morlix's “Is There Anyone Out There”

Nashville-based singer-songwriter Sophie Gault released a cover of American singer-songwriter Gurf Morlix's “Is There Anyone Out There” on December 5, 2025.
The song is the fourth single off of her upcoming third studio album “UNHINGED”, which is se to be released on January 23, 2026 via Torrez Music Group.
On the track, she collaborated with Gurf Morlix.
The original version of the song is featured on Gurf Morlix's 2021 album “Kiss Of The Diamondback”.
Gurf Morlix released the album in the midst of a pandemic, pouring a deep sense of loneliness into the original recording as a quasi-reflection of lockdown conditions.
It was written by Gurf Morlix. The cover version was produced by Alex Torrez and David Dorn.- Sophie Gault said of the song, “It's magical how this one came together. I've known Gurf for a few years now, and he's always been very supportive and encouraging to me as an artist and writer, which is a big deal to me. He's made some of the music that is now a part of my own musical identity—he helped shape how I play the guitar when I was listening to him all those late nights trying to work out licks that I still use to this day.”
She continued, “I'd been meaning to do a cover of one of his songs, and while I was on a flight home from somewhere, I listened to Kiss of the Diamondback, one of my favorite Gurf albums. This was the last song on that album, and it put me in such a calm, meditative state. I decided that has to be the one I do. So I worked up my own version.” -
The new album comprises 10 tracks, produced by Alex Torrez and David Dorn.
Diving into authentic confessions and wild child card counters, Sophie Gault pairs her midnight thoughts with barking riffs, creating a masterful album for audio connoisseurs worldwide.
