Elmiene Premieres New Song “Cry Against The Wind” on BBC Radio 1
British-Sudanese singer-songwriter Elmiene premiered a new song “Cry Against The Wind” on BBC Radio 1's New Music Show with Jack Saunders.
The song is his first music since the mixtape “Heat The Streets”, which was released back in September.
The track traces the steps of Elmiene’s evolving relationship with his late father, Jameel. It is rooted in a raw and unfiltered reflection of grief, guilt, and the complex ache of loving someone who has never quite been within reach.
He first performed the song at his sold-out O2 Academy Brixton show in London on December 4, 2025.
The track was written by Abdala Elamin, Andrew Aged, and Buddy Ross. Produced by Ghostnote, Andrew Aged, and Buddy Ross.
The accompanying music video was directed by Patrick Linehan. In the clip, Elmiene is disguised as a father, toggling between visible resistance and yearning in the midst of a tumultuous windstorm.- Elmiene said of the song, “This song is about crippling guilt. It’s about a mistake that I know is too late to truly be forgiven for. We all sometimes have to live with things we can’t fix but acknowledging and accepting that is heavy, like a strong wind you can never turn away from.”
