  • Devon Thompson Releases New Song “Hunger”

  • Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter Devon Thompson released a new song “Hunger” along with a music video on December 5, 2025.

She recorded it with producer James Salter at the legendary Teatro in Oxnard. She said, “The building is old and practically haunted, I’m pretty sure the spirits helped us write this song. With sparkle sounds here and there and those shimmering guitars, it’s my favorite song yet.”
The song is the third single of 2025, following “Father” and “Wishing”.

Devon Thompson said of the song, “The concept was born after spending a night with people who make you feel even more alone than when you’re by yourself. Caught in this despair, there was something so alluring to me about making the song sound so saccharine and sweet, but having such a melancholic meaning behind it. It was written very fast, while I was wishing I was anywhere else, somewhere happy and warm. But the reality is, sometimes people feel more alone in a city full of strangers.”
  • The music video was directed by Brian J. Nichols, featuring Mark Solamoni on drums and Andrew Vance on bass.

Devon Thompson said of the video, “Making the video for ‘Hunger’ allowed my dreams of making my fairy dream world come true. Lots of antiques, glitter, and sparkling lights later, my ethereal fantasy was born. It highlights the extreme juxtaposition between living in my safe fantasy space and the cold reality of the loneliness one can feel living in a big city alone. Everyone has a safe place they go to, that they dream about, but the world outside of that can be harsh and cruel.”

  • She added, “It’s a lush, dreamy, shimmer soaked track laced with longing. its about feeling so alone in a city full of so many people, and no matter what, there’s this deep sense of longing that you can’t quite shake. But there’s this one place, this one happy place that we go to, somewhere warm and safe, in our imagination. The video is the perfect representation of the juxtaposition of going to that place, vs the harsh truth of reality.”
