New Constellations Releases New Song “Secret Safe”

Portland-based indie-pop duo New Constellations, consisting of Harlee Case (vocals) and Josh Smith (multi-instrumentalist), will release their upcoming debut album “It Comes in Waves” on May 15, 2026 via Nettwerk.
The album comprises 13 tracks, featuring a guest appearance from Night Heron, produced New Constellations, Tyler Blake, and Cameron Spies.
From the album, the duo released a new song “Secret Safe” on December 5, 2025.
The song is the fourth single off, following “Hot Blooded”, “Sun Chasing the Rain”, and “Believe Again”.
The track serves as another early window into the band's 2026 debut album, a project written over three years and recorded between Portland and Los Angeles.
Driven by galloping rhythms, shimmering synths, and the duo's signature atmospheric vocals, the song contemplates the unchanging nature of best friendship, even when a close connection moves far away.
It was written by Harlee Pierpoint Case and Joshua Ryan Smith. Produced by Joshua Smith and Cameron Spies.- The band lead singer Harlee Case said of the song, “'Secret Safe' is an ode to friendship. It speaks to the power in the ability for friendship to transcend time and distance. It is also directly about, and dedicated to 4 of our friends who were planning on leaving Portland around the time we wrote it, a reminder to them, and ourselves, that no matter how far away, or how long it's been, they will always have a special place in our lives and our hearts.”
Josh Smith added, “True friendships surpass distance. It doesn't matter how long I go without seeing you. Like, we love you, and we'll always love you, and that's enough. Our love is enough.” -
The duo shared on social media, “All of our songs are deeply personal to us and tell a story of where we have been in the last few years. This songs means a lot to Josh and I as it was written to our dear friends Kyle Farook, Ashley Arasaki, Andrew Arasaki, Alisha Michelle during times of change and unpredictable distance • you know it's real when to time or space can change your feelings for someone. We promise to always keep your place. We love yall.” - source : Apple Music
