Sunday Morning Returns With New Song “Carry The Sky”

Vancouver-based indie-rock band Sunday Morning returned with a new song “Carry The Sky” on December 2, 2025.
The song is their first music in three years since the 2022 two songs “Junky Don't Care” and “Explain the World”.
The track pays tribute to the band frontman Bruce Wilson's best friend Christian and his sister Juliet. It is a sweeping tribute to love, loss, and the weight of memory that never fully lifts.
It was written by Bruce Andrew Wilson, Felix Hor-Cheung Fung, and James Benedict Koch. Produced by Jamey Koch, with additional production by Felix Fung.
The band recorded the track at The Warehouse Studio in Vancouver. The track features Kevin Rose on guitar, Chris Gestrin on piano, Jamey Koch on bass, Share Dada on drums, and Lone Willow on vocals.
Bruce Wilson said of the song, “Sunday Morning has always been a very personal project and the subject matter of the songs come from my direct experiences though they're often masked in allegory and poetic license. 'Carry the Sky' differs from previous songs because it is, at its essence, a tribute to two beautiful people I loved dearly who died and left intangible chasms in my life that will never be filled. I didn't want this song to be stuck in my grief but to have a sense of celebration for these two lives who brought so much love, compassion and wisdom into my life.”- He continued, “I wrote the chorus of this song soon after the death of my dear friend Christian who I spent years on the road with when he was the roadie extraordinaire for Tankhog. It was gutting when he died and soon after that my sister Juliet passed away quite suddenly and the verses are to her. I had no idea what to do with the grief I felt—what to do with the large empty spaces their departures left in my life. The people we are close to and share love with hold so much space—physical space, emotional space, spiritual space. It's so difficult to reconcile the emptiness when they're gone.”

He added, “I guess writing this song was one way I worked through that immeasurable grief. I felt it was important to work with producer Jamey Koch on this song. He knew Christian well and had also recently experienced familial loss so having him on as producer just made sense. He knew the song couldn't be stuck in sadness and it needed to be celebratory of Christian and Juliet's beautiful spirits. He did an absolutely beautiful job producing and mixing this and I'm greatly indebted for the time and care he took with this song. Kevin Rose played the amazing guitar parts and the incredible Chris Gestrin came into The Warehouse Studio and played piano and keyboards on this track. I'm truly honored to get to work with such talented musicians. Loss is universal and I hope this song resonates. We all have friends and ancestors carrying the sky above us.”
