  • Poppy Releases New Song “Guardian”

  • Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter Poppy released a new song “Guardian” on December 4, 2025.

The song is the third single off of her upcoming seventh studio album “Empty Hands”, which is set to be released on January 23, 2025.
On the track, urgent guitar riffs marry with thunderous percussion against euphonious, infectious vocals from Poppy. She continues to evade the boundaries of genre to create her own vision of what metal can and should be.
It was written by Jordan Fish, Julian Gargiulo, Poppy, and Stephen Harrison. As with the previous singles “Bruised Sky” and “Unravel”, produced by Jordan Fish.
The accompanying music visualizer was directed by Orie McGinness.
  • The new album comprises 13 tracks, which she recorded with former Bring Me The Horizon keyboard player Jordan Fish.
Poppy told NME about working with Jordan Fish, “He's such a creative force. Jordan is very good at tracking performance. We both have an appreciation for heavy music and more saccharine pop music. I think the commonalities in our tastes unite for this record.”

  • She made the album during her tour in 2024.
She told Conexão POP about the album, “Last year's tour was in a few different places and a few different cities. That's how we ended up. And I've known these songs for quite a while. They've been around for a long time. Sometimes that's my favorite part about music, holding onto something for a while and knowing that I have it before anyone else hears it.”

She continued, “It's a journey. It's made of various colors, with references to the past, present, and future. It's much more colorful than the two singles you've heard so far. When you look at the work as a whole, you can see all its colors.”
