Pamela. Releases Debut Song “Chain Reaction”
Sydney-based indie pop Pamela., consisting of Josh Kempen (guitar) and Sarah Ellen (vocals), released their debut song “Chain Reaction” on November 25, 2025.
The song is accompanied by a music video, which was filmed in Death Valley, California and directed by Sarah Ellen.
It was written by Dennis Neuer, Josh Kempen, and Sarah Ellen. Produced by Chris Collins and Dennis Neuer.
The duo told 10 Magazine about the song, “Chain Reaction is a song about an emotionally avoidant man and a woman challenging him to open up and lean into love. We wanted to tell that story in a surreal way. Making this video was a leap of faith and a labour of love. We had a tiny crew and an ambitious vision, so we're really chuffed that we managed to pull it off.”- Josh Kempen and Sarah Ellen met as housemates in Kingsford, Sydney. Sarah Ellen said, “The first night we spent living together, we lay on the living room floor listening to 'Shine On You Crazy Diamond' by Pink Floyd. We've basically been making music together ever since.”
Their distinct sound is modern alt-pop laced with effortless harmonies, shimmering guitar work, and playful, provocative lyricism. Josh Kempen added, “As you get to experience Pamela, you'll see that we just want to make music that makes you feel good.” -
