The Enemy Releases New Song “Trouble”
Last month, British indie rock band The Enemy, consisting of Tom Clarke (vocals/guitar), Andy Hopkins (bass) and Liam Watts (drums), announced their upcoming fifth studio album “Social Disguises” would be released on February 20, 2026.
This marks their first album in a decade since the 2015 album “It's Automatic”.
From the album, the band released the second single called “Trouble” on November 28, 2025, following “Not Going Your Way”.
The song is accompanied by the Morgan Tedd-directed music video.
It was written by Andy Hopkins, Liam Watts, and Tom Clarke. Produced by Matt Terry.
The band frontman Tom Clarke said of the song, “‘Trouble’ has always felt to me like the spiritual successor to ‘Had Enough’. It's a driving two-chord rant. I think every generation has, or will at some point experience the sensation that culture is changing and that they're struggling to keep up. Trouble is about the moments of exasperation when you experience that struggle. When you realise you're no longer part of counter-culture, or sub-culture, when you're in that grey area between being anti-establishment, and being the establishment.”- The new album comprises 11 tracks, produced by Matt Terry.
Tom Clarke said of the album, “Since we finished the reunion tour in 2022, all 3 of us knew we wanted to get back to making music together after a very long time apart: after 2 years in & out of the studio, touring and playing festivals - we have finished our 5th album and we could not be more proud of it.”
He continued, “We tried to make this album in the same frame of mind that we made our first, as though we were making the follow-up to it. It took a year to write, around 90 demos, and another year in the studio. I’m very proud of it. We all are. Whatever success it does or doesn’t enjoy I feel like we all succeeded in making a great record we can be proud of forever.” -
