mgk Teams Up with Jonas Brothers for New Remix of “cliché”

American rapper and singer-songwriter mgk (Machine Gun Kelly) teamed up with American pop rock band Jonas Brothers to release a new remix of “cliché” on November 25, 2025.
This marks the first collaboration between mgk and Jonas Brothers.
They first performed the song during the JONAS20: Greetings From Your Hometown Tour in Vancouver in September 2025.
The original version of the song is featured on his seventh studio album “lost americana”, which was released back in August.
It was written by VVAVES, mgk and No Love For The Middle Child. Produced by No Love For The Middle Child, mgk, SlimXX, BazeXX and Dark Waves.
Also, mgk released another version of the song called “cliché (sad version)” in June 2025.- mgk said of the song, “I freestyle my lyrics, so I was playing guitar with my friends in my living room and came up with this. Originally it was 20 bpm slower and sounded like a country song. We wanted 'cliché' to be summer song as that is exactly how the record felt. That led us to the car wash; which I later discovered was in the Britney Spears music video 'Pretty Girls' 10 years ago that they shot at the same exact car wash.”

He added, “I like doing things that will make the viewer question what it is they're watching. I knew this would strike a WTF chord. Two influences were Blink 182's 'All The Small Things' video for how they learned into self-deprecating themselves and NYSYNC for being an iconic pop boy band that I thought I was going to be in when I was in 2nd grade.” - source : Apple Music
