Koven Premieres New Song “Orbit” with HALIENE on BBC Radio 1

London-based drum and bass duo Koven, consisting of Max Rowat (producer) and Katie Boyle (vocals/DJ), teamed up with American singer-songwriter HALIENE to premiere a new song “Orbit” on BBC Radio 1's New Music Show with Jack Saunders.
This mark the first collaboration between Koven and HALIENE.
For Koven, the song is their first music since the second studio album “Moments In Everglow”, which was released back in April.
Meanwhile, for HALIENE, the track is the follow-up to “Cold as Snow” with Seven Lions, which was released earlier this month.
It was written by Katie Boyle, Kelly Sweet, and Max Rowat. Produced by Koven.
Katie Boyle told Jack Saunders about the song, “Two powerful female vocals on a gorgeous drum 'n' bass track. And so she is an absolutely incredible vocalist, songwriter. I've been following her for a long time. She's been following Koven For a long time. Never thought we'd work together, because this is her first venture into drum and bass. Previously, she's worked with Armin van Buuren, Ferry Corsten, Seven Lions, ILLENIUM, very like in with the EDM crew, I guess. And then she approached us with a track that she had written that was at 174 which we all know is the drum and bass. And she was like, 'Do you guys want to jump on this?' Write second verse together, get Max on the production, turn it into a drum and bass track. It's turned out really cool, because you never know what two voices are going to sound like together until you try it. And we thought this will hopefully sound nice. And then we did it like this actually sounds really nice.”- She continued, “I think it kind of just makes it feel even more like storytelling, which is kind of cool, like we're kind of singing back and forth to each other. And also just having two different dynamics of vocal that we have very different voices that complement each other. So it just kind of adds an extra element of power as well, I think, and just sounds nice. Sounds good in the air.”
